Ruby 1.8.5 on 64-bit SPARC’s

Due to an illegal instruction being passed to 64-bit SPARC’s by the Ruby interpreter, the whole ruby1.8 suite became unusable on the Niagara family of SPARC processors, including irb and all Ruby-related applications. Emanuele Roca, Akira Yamada and others quickly addressed the issue and I’ve just prepared an Etch backport of the proposed change, which makes Ruby usable again on Niagaras. Both source and binary packages are available.
