I recently solved some interference problems allowing me to expand what I can hear in my Kaito KA1102. I was recently tuning to 5000 KHz. in AM, an standard frequency allocated for time signalling, and I was able to hear an exclusive phenomenon: both of the voice-based National Institute of Standards and Technology stations, WWV and WWVH, at the same time, but not overlapping at all.
The interesting issue is that WWV is based on Fort Collins, Colorado, in the Continental US, and WWVH transmits from Kekaha, Hawaii. NIST does a great job syncing transmitters as well as programming the broadcast so that the female voice of WWVH doesn’t overlap the male voice of WWV, but the minute tone sounds at the same time. Awesome.
